About Communication

I expect to learn a lot from the podcast project that we are currently working on. Some of these things include: how to collaborate with fellow group-mates to deliver an important message; how to create a video that addresses a heterogeneous audience (i.e. にほんじん and アメリカじん); how to compare/contrast Japanese and American "cultures", despite the fact that culture cannot be strictly defined; and how to go about a creative endeavor such as this (editing, script-writing, etc.).

Most of these things depend on communication, which I believe is the art of delivering a message to a varied audience that is sensitive to their preferences and beliefs. Though we attend an American university, we must be able to view our work through the eyes of a 日本人, and deliver a message that will mean something to someone living in Japan. Regardless of how well-produced our video is, if we do not have an effective way of conveying our ideas, the video is meaningless.

Therefore, I hope that our finished product will entertain and inform whoever comes upon our blog!
